The CrowdScores EPL Weekend preview – (12th-14th January)

Posted by | App News, Previews | No Comments

Saturday 12th – Monday 14th January

We have had a break from the Premier league for the Cups. Some shocks, such as the 2-1 loss to Leicester at the hands of Newport County. To the ridiculous scoreline of 9-0 when Man City played Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup Semi Final. There is still one more leg to play!

West Ham United v Arsenal

West Ham form: WDLWL

Arsenal form: WWLDW

Last Meeting: Arsenal 3 West Ham 1 (25th August 2018)

West Ham are hoping that the transfer speculation of Marko Arnautovic will not scupper their plans against Arsenal. Arsenal are off the back of a 3-0 win against Blackpool and are hoping the rest gets Aubameyang back and scoring.

CrowdScores Predicts: Arsenal win

Brighton & Hove Albion v Liverpool

Brighton form:  WDWDL

Liverpool form: LLWWW

Last Meeting:  Liverpool 1 Brighton 0 (25 Aug 2018)

Liverpool have lost twice in a row for the first time this season, firstly to the second place Manchester City & once again in the FA Cup to Wolves. They will have their full strength squad back to face Brighton, who are on a four game unbeaten run.

CrowdScores predicts: Liverpool win

Burnley v Fulham

Burnley form: WWWLL

Fulham form: LLWDD

Last Meeting: Fulham 4 Burnley 2 (26th Aug 2018)

Fulham are still very unstable, even if Ranieri has come in and tried to keep them challenging to get out of the relegation zone. Mitrovic is also reported to have had a £50 million bid from an unnamed Chinese club rejected. Burnley are feeling more comfortable in the league after two straight wins giving them a slender two point gap from the drop zone.

CrowdScores predicts: Draw

Cardiff City v Huddersfield Town

Cardiff form: LLWDL

Huddersfield Town: LLLLLL

Last Meeting: Huddersfield 0 Cardiff 0 (25th August 2018)

Relegation 6 pointer! Huddersfield have been on absolute dire form, 9 losses in a row. There last win dates back to 25th November when they beat Wolves. Cardiff will have a loss of confidence to League 1 Gillingham 1-0 in the FA Cup.

CrowdScores Predicts: Draw

Crystal Palace v Watford

Palace form: WWLDW

Watford form: WDDLW

Last Meeting: Watford 2 Palace 1 (26th August 2018)

Palace are up and down with their performances this season with no outright goalscorer, Luka Milivojevic is the top scorer for The Eagles with most of them coming from the penalty spot. Watford are playing well, however transfer speculation over several players may be a distraction for them.

CrowdScores predicts: Draw

Leicester City v Southampton

Leicester form: LWLWW

Southampton form: DDLLW

Last Meeting: Leicester 0 Southampton 0 (27th Nov 2018)

Claude Puel seems to be under a bit of pressure from the fans after some inconsistent form and some questionable team selections. However, they do sit in 7th position and another win could cement themselves there. Southampton are still struggling regardless of a new manager, but a win could get them out the relegation zone and even get as far up the table as 15th.

CrowdScores predicts: Leicester win

Chelsea v Newcastle United

Chelsea form: LWDWW

Newcastle form: DLDLD

Last Meeting: Newcastle 1 Chelsea 2 (26th August 2018)

Is Sarriball still working? Critics in the media are starting to doubt it after some poor performances. Including a 0-0 draw with relegation stricken Southampton, and to keep fourth they will need a change in fortune in front of goal. Newcastle have been heavily affected by the off the field situation of the club and the owner’s reluctance to supply the finances for transfers.

CrowdScores predicts: Chelsea win

Everton v Bournemouth

Everton form: WLLWL

Bournemouth form: LDLLW

Last Meeting: Bournemouth 2 Everton 2 (26th August 2018)

Everton feel they should be doing better in the league, even the owner admits it too. They hold 11th table in the league. Bournemouth’s good start seems to have dropped off as they now hold 12th place. However a win against Everton could mean they leapfrog them in the league.

CrowdScores predicts: Everton win

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United

Spurs form: WWWLW

Man Utd:  WWWWW

Last Meeting: Man Utd 0 Tottenham 3 (27th August 2018)

Tottenham still plan to be playing at Wembley for the near distant future, which could also mean they will be in a Carabao Cup at “Home”. Manchester United seem like a different team from who played Spurs earlier on in  the season. Players like Pogba and Rashford have gained great confidence in the change of manager.

CrowdScore Predicts: United Win

Manchester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers

City form: WWWWL

Wolves win: WLWDL

Last Meeting: Wolves 1 Man City 1 (25th August 2018)

Manchester City in  their previous two games have scored a massive 16 goals! (Okay, they were against Burton & Rotherham) but their arch rivals United could help them distance themselves from Spurs. Wolves are on a high off the back of their win in the FA Cup against Liverpool and have a good track record against the top 6

CrowdScores predicts: City win

The CrowdScores EPL Weekend preview – (15th-16th December)

Posted by | App News, Previews | No Comments

Saturday 15th – Sunday 16th December

The Champions League &  Europa League group stages are now over and it will be another six weeks until we get to see the Premier League teams in the knockout stages. Now we are in the busy Christmas schedule of Premier League fixtures, before a small break of FA Cup Third Round fixtures

Manchester City v Everton

Man City form: WLWWD

Everton form: DDLWD

Last Meeting: Everton 1 Man City 3 (31st March 2018)

Manchester City finally lost their grip on the top spot due to a loss against Chelsea. They are hoping to get back at Liverpool, who overtook them by beating an Everton side with an in form Richarlison up front.

CrowdScores predicts: Man City win

Crystal Palace v Leicester City

Palace form: LLWDL

Leicester form: LDWDD

Last Meeting: Palace 5 Leicester 0 (28th April 2018)

Crystal Palace do not look like they can recreate their last meeting with a convincing win. They have lost their last two games, which were derbies, and look like they are down in confidence. Leicester have some good news with Jamie Vardy due back in the side to give them well needed strike force up top.

CrowdScores predicts: Draw

Huddersfield Town v Newcastle United

Huddersfield form: LLLWD

Newcastle form: LDLWW

Last Meeting: Newcastle 1 Huddersfield 0 (31st March 2018)

After beating Wolves, Huddersfield have been on a three game losing streak which ahs left them in the relegation zone. Newcastle haven’t fared too well either, gaining one point from their last three games, including a last minute loss to Wolves, courtesy of a Matt Doherty winner.

CrowdScores predicts: Narrow Newcastle win

Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley

Spurs form: DWWLW

Burnley form: WLLLD

Last Meeting: Burnley 0 Tottenham 3 (23rd December 2017)

Tottenham come into this game full of confidence after their success at the Nou Camp and reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League. Burnley have finally won a game after three consecutive games of losses against Brighton.

CrowdScores predicts: Tottenham Hotspur win.

Watford v Cardiff City

Watford form: DLLLD

Cardiff form: WLWLW

Last Meeting: Cardiff 2 Watford 1 (28th July 2015)

Watford are coming up against one of the in form teams in the league. Cardiff have moved from a relegation spot to 14th. Including an impressive win against Southampton, where Paterson got the winner in the 73rd minute.

CrowdScores predicts: Watford win

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Bournemouth

Wolves form: WWLLD

Bournemouth form: LWLLL

Last Meeting: Bournemouth 2 Wolves 1 (3rd March 2015)

Since his barren run of not scoring in his opening 13 league games, Diogo Jota has scored in successive games and looks to link up with Jimenez. Top Bournemouth goal scorer Callum Wilson is an injury scare, but is looking like he will be fit after a Hamstring injury.

CrowdScores predicts: Wolves win.

Fulham v West Ham United

Fulham form: LDLWL

West Ham form: WWWLD

Last Meeting: West Ham 2 Fulham 1 (20th July 2017)

Ranieri so far has taken 4 points from his first 2 home games for Fulham since starting and looks to build upon a decent momentum. West Ham have score 9 goals in 3 games, which looks promising considering that Fulham have not kept a clean sheet all season.

CrowdScores predicts: West Ham win

Brighton & Hove Albion v Chelsea

Brighton form: LWWDL

Chelsea form: DWLWW

Last Meeting: Brighton 0 Chelsea 4 (20th January 2018)

Chelsea will have the majority of the players well rested as they missed out on playing against Hungarian Vidi in the Europa League. Brighton are looking for their first win against Chelsea in a competitive fixture since 1933.

CrowdScores predicts: Chelsea win

Southampton v Arsenal

Southampton form: LLDDL

Arsenal form: WWDWW

Last Meeting: Arsenal 3 Southampton 2 (8th April 2018)

Southampton are looking very weak at the moment, in 19th place. They lost to fellow strugglers Cardiff 1-0 and without reinforcements in the January transfer window, look likely to be relegated. Arsenal are going strength to strength and may not be in 5th place for much longer.

CrowdScore predicts: Arsenal win

Liverpool v Man Utd

Liverpool form: WWWWL

Man Utd form: LWDDW

Last Meeting: Man Utd 2 Liverpool 1 (10th March 2018)

Liverpool are 28 league home games unbeaten, last losing to Crystal Palace in April 2017. Manchester United trail Liverpool 16 points in the league. Which is the biggest deficit before christmas they have faced since 1990.

CrowdScores predicts: Liverpool win

“I support Liverpool because I was brought up in a family of Liverpool fans and I have followed them ever since.

My favourite player is Luis Suarez, as he scored over 90 goals for the club in only a few years, and also massively helped our impressive charge for the title in 2014. He is one of the most all rounded forwards I’ve seen, plus he’s absolutely mental which you have to love.

As for the best game I’ve ever been to, I’d say Roma at home last year. Salah produced one of the best Champions League performances of all time that night, and it was my first European game that I’d been to. The whole run in general was top class and something that I certainly never expected.

The thing I love most about Crowdscores is to interact with fans of all different clubs and nations. However, I mainly use it to check the Premier League scores.”

Cardiff City v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Cardiff form: LWLLW

Wolves form:LDLLL

Last Meeting: Cardiff 0 Wolves 1  (6th April 2018)

Crystal Palace v Burnley

Crystal Palace form: DLLLD

Burnley form: LDLLL

Last Meeting: Palace 1 Burnley 0 (13th January 2018)

Huddersfield Town v Brighton & Hove Albion

Stylo has been an user of CrowdScores since September 2017. He is an avid Toffees fan and is one of our hard working moderators! Here’s what the featured user of the week has to say about Football in general & the CrowdScores app:

CrowdScores football app icon

“My family was probably the biggest influence in me supporting Everton. My dad has been supporting Everton since the 1980s (when we were actually good) and he was the reason that I started to support Everton, and have done for 9 years!

My favourite player currently is Richarlison – although I really like all of our squad as they seem to get on really well together and are settling in nicely. The thing with Richarlison is that he seems to work so well in many positions. He can play either on the wing or up front and I myself as a forward in real life am attempting to emulate his play style in my games.

The best game I’ve watched was probably the 2014-15 FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea. Everton never seemed to have had great luck in cups, especially when I watch the games. We lost that FA Cup semi to Liverpool in 2011-12 – and we’d missed out on the EFL Cup final that year – so I didn’t have much hope. Chelsea were a good team. However Lukaku in the second half ripped Chelsea to shreds – scoring both goals on the night. The memory is made bittersweet however as Lukaku is largely to blame for us missing out on the FA Cup final that year…

My favourite thing about CrowdScores is definitely the friendliness of the community nowadays. When I joined, it was a great app – but, with the introduction of the moderators, it’s even better know, and heated arguments are non-existent!”
